
About Chelsea
Chelsea's love for broadcast journalism began at the young age of eight. She knew she would end up anchoring and reporting thanks to her dad, Bob Pompeani. He is the sports director at KDKA TV in Pittsburgh, PA, Chelsea's hometown.
You could say this career runs in the family, Chelsea's sister, aunt, and cousin are also in the biz.
Chelsea always had the dream of having her own talk show, or working for E! News, she loves being able to show her bubbly personality. Of course, her dream come true would be working in Pittsburgh with her dad.
Chelsea spent years watching her dad and others at KDKA, she even anchored a show called "For Kids Sake" with her dad, highlighting the feature reports the kids of KDKA's on-air talent put together.
Chelsea went to Point Park University in Pittsburgh where she honed her craft, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism.
During college, Chelsea interned at WTOV9 in Steubenville, Ohio and KDKA-TV.
Just two months after graduating, Chelsea got her first TV break in Erie, PA. She reported on a variety of topics. A few months in, she became the Erie County Court reporter. Even though Chelsea covered her fair share of hard news stories, she loves writing; especially feature stories.
Her next move took her up the New York State Thruway to Rochester. She worked every shift possible while at News 8, from nightside to dayside to sunrise. She loved it all. Chelsea loves digging for news and even broke a few stories at News 8.
Chelses loves her family, friends and her cat, Sebastian. She is not only a hard worker, but loves story-telling and helping people in anyway she can.
